Privacy Policy

This policy covers Airdrie House Painters and the website at airdriehousepainters.ca. It describes what we collect when you contact us, what we do with it, and who else ends up holding it. It is written to be read rather than to be impenetrable.

Who we are

Airdrie House Painters is a painting company operating in Airdrie, Alberta. We are a service-area business and do not operate a public premises. For anything in this policy, reach us at contact@airdriehousepainters.ca.

What we collect, and only when you give it to us

We do not ask you to create an account and we have nothing for you to log into. The only personal information we collect is what you type into the quote form or send us by email.

The quote form asks for your name and a phone number, which are required, and optionally your email address, the type of work you want, your property type, your neighbourhood, your rough timing and a description of the project. It also records which page of the site you submitted from, so we know what you were reading when you decided to get in touch.

The form includes two anti-spam measures: a hidden field that people never see and automated submitters usually fill in, and a check on how quickly the form was completed. Neither collects anything about you and neither sends anything to a third party. We deliberately do not use a CAPTCHA, so nothing about your browsing is shared with a verification service.

What we do with it

We use it to reply to you, to prepare a quote, and to carry out the work if you go ahead. That is the whole purpose. We do not sell personal information, we do not rent it, and we do not share it with other trades or marketing companies.

When you submit the form, the details are sent to us by email and also recorded in our customer management system so an enquiry does not get lost. Those two systems are described below.

Who else handles your information

A small number of service providers process information on our behalf because running a website and a business requires them:

• Vercel hosts this website and runs the code that receives the quote form. Like any web host, its servers log technical request information such as IP addresses.
• Our email provider carries and stores the message containing your enquiry, in the same way it would if you had emailed us directly.
• DunaHub is the customer management system where we record enquiries so we can keep track of quotes and scheduled work.
• Google Analytics measures how the site is used, if and when it is enabled. This is covered in the next section.

Some of these providers operate servers outside Canada, which means information you send us may be stored or processed in another country and be subject to the laws there.

Analytics and cookies

This site is built to work without JavaScript and it sets no cookies of its own. It does not use advertising trackers, social media pixels, session recording or heat mapping.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people read and how they arrive, which requires cookies and involves Google receiving information about your visit, including a truncated version of your IP address. The events we record are limited and deliberately uninteresting: page views, clicks on our phone number and email address, clicks on quote buttons, and the fact that a quote form was started or successfully submitted. We do not send the contents of the form to Google.

You can prevent this entirely with a browser setting, an extension, or Google’s own opt-out tool. The site works identically either way, and nothing about your experience depends on it.

If we later run advertising, a Google Ads conversion tag would fire on our confirmation page to tell us that an enquiry came from an advertisement. It records that a submission happened, not what was in it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that turn into work are kept as long as we need them for business and tax purposes. Enquiries that do not go anywhere are kept for a reasonable period in case you come back to us, and then deleted. If you would like your information removed sooner, ask us and we will do it.

Your rights under Alberta law

Private-sector privacy in this province is governed by Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act. Under it you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, and withdraw consent for us to keep using it, subject to any legal obligations we have to retain records.

Children

This site is aimed at property owners and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top of it. Substantive changes will be described rather than quietly folded in.
