About Airdrie House Painters
We are a painting company that works in Airdrie, Alberta. Interior and exterior house painting, kitchen cabinets, fences, decks and the occasional commercial space, for people in this city and in Crossfield and Balzac.
This page is about how we work rather than how good we are, because the second of those is not ours to claim. What follows is the way we quote, the way we run a job, and the things we will not do — which between them tell you more than any adjective would.
The company
How we quote
We come and look at the work before pricing it. Not because it sounds diligent, but because condition is the single largest variable on every job on this site and it cannot be described accurately over the phone — least of all by the person who lives with it and has stopped noticing.
The quote arrives in writing, itemised, with the scope named. That matters for a reason that has nothing to do with us: it is the only way you can compare two painting quotes honestly. Two numbers on their own tell you nothing, because the cheaper one may simply have fewer coats, less preparation or one fewer surface in it. Two scopes side by side tell you everything.
We do not publish square-foot or per-room pricing anywhere on this website, and we would be slightly suspicious of anyone who does. A rate per square metre that ignores whether the trim is sound is not a price, it is an average with a good chance of being wrong in both directions.
There is no pressure attached to a quote and no expiry date invented to create urgency. Booking work months later with the same figure is entirely normal, particularly for exterior work that has to wait for a season anyway.
What we will tell you not to do
The most useful thing a tradesperson can offer is a reason not to spend money, and it is the part of the job that most obviously costs us work. A few of the recommendations we make regularly:
Paint fewer elevations. It is common in Airdrie for the south and west walls of a house to be genuinely tired while the north side is close to fine. Doing the two that need it and the trim, rather than wrapping the whole house, is frequently the correct answer.
Replace rather than coat. If kitchen cabinet boxes are failing, if a deck board has gone soft, or if cladding has reached the end of its life, paint buys a season and then looks worse than before. We would rather say that at the quote stage than take the money.
Stain instead of paint, on fences and deck boards. Paint on exposed horizontal timber eventually fails as a film, and the repair for that is stripping everything. Stain fades instead, which makes the next round cheap.
Wait until spring. Nobody should be painting the outside of a house in an Alberta winter, and a company willing to do it in November is telling you something about how it works.
Skip the basement. On whole-house packages the temptation is to do everything, and the right move is usually to leave the spaces nobody looks at and spend the budget on the surfaces doing actual work.

We work in Airdrie, Crossfield and Balzac. Our focus is Airdrie and the communities around it — that means faster response, easier follow-ups, and crews who know the local conditions.
Staying focused keeps the small things easy. If a door frame needs one more touch-up after the job, coming back to sort it out is a short visit, not a negotiation — and those small things are what make a paint job feel truly finished.
It also matters for the work itself. A great many Airdrie households commute to Calgary, which pushes quote visits and colour drop-offs into early mornings and evenings. Working close by is what makes that ordinary rather than a favour.
And the conditions here are genuinely their own. Airdrie sits on flatter, more exposed ground than Calgary's river valley, so exteriors contend with more wind and less shelter. That changes how a windy week gets planned, and it is the kind of thing you learn by working here.
What we do not claim
You will not find customer reviews, star ratings, project counts or awards on this website, and their absence is on purpose rather than an oversight.
We have not published reviews because we would only publish real ones, from named Airdrie customers who are happy for their words to be used. Inventing them, or borrowing generic praise that could belong to any company in any city, is both dishonest and obvious to anybody paying attention.
The same goes for project photography. When the projects page fills up it will be with houses we actually painted in this city, not stock images. Until then it says so plainly.
If a credential appears on this site later — insurance, a warranty, a licence number — it will be because the document exists and can be produced on request. That is a low bar and a surprising number of contractor websites do not clear it.
